Rashtriya Military Schools located in India are governed by a strict admissions process to admit students into any of the five schools. Rashtriya Military schools conduct admission classes from 6th through 9th. The criteria to be eligible for admission to both classes are provided below.
Age: Boys & Girls aged between 10-12 years as on 31 march 2022 ( born between 01 April 2012 to 31 march 2014, both days inclusive ) for admission in class VI and Boys aged between 13-15 years as on 31 march 2022 ( born between 01 April 2009 to 31 March 2011 , both inclusive ) for admission in Class IX . Six months relaxation in upper age limit is permissible for wards pf personnel Killed in Action.
Education Qualification : for admission to Class VI, no previous education qualification is mandatory. For admission in Class IX, the candidate should have passed class VIII from a government/ recognized school before the date of admission to a Rashtriya Military School. However, students Studying in Class V and Class VIII are eligible to appear in the respective Entrance Test.
Class 6th: Candidates are between 10-12 years of age at the time of application. Candidates must also have graduated from class 5th and be studying in the 5th grade in a recognized institution.
Class 9th: The student must be between 13-14 years old. They must have completed class 8th and are still in the 8th grade at a recognized institution.
Class 11th: Candidates must be older than 14 years old and not more than 15 years old at the time of application.
Medical Exam
Before being accepted, the candidates must pass an exam to assess their health at one of our military medical centers. Admission is only open to those physically fit.

Common Entrance Exam
The Common Entrance Test is likely to be conducted to allow admission into the Rashtriya Military Schools of India in the 6th and 9th grades. This test is the result of an OMR automatic test, and it will cover classes from the 9th to the 6th. Both the 6th and 9th of September will see tests.
The CET is designed for 6th-grade entry. It includes English, Maths, and Intelligence, as well as General Knowledge and General Knowledge. Questions will be based on the CBSE 5th grade syllabus.

The schools have reservation of seats in categories mentioned below:
• 70 % of the seats reserved are for children of JCO/ORs of members in the Army Navy and Air Force who served our country or do so currently.
• Rest is for young officers of the Army Navy and Air Force and civil youth.
• Children of fallen soldiers are entitled to 50 reserved seats.
• Seats in each category have a reserved percentage of 15% to 7.5 seats for people with disabilities.
